You’re not supposed to do maintenance/work on an armed aircraft (at least in the US). He must’ve done something wrong with the electrical system because I swear F-16s should have a safety that prevents the weapons from firing when there’s weight being sensed on the landing gear.

T he landing gear disa bles any weapons systems, but I don’t know if the cannons have something else. i have a relative that used to be in the air force and they told stories of how dangerous it is right before a jet takes off, when they have to remove various safeties . o nce a tech finished up his procedure, remembered that he left something in the cockpit, went up, and in reaching for the item with his left hand, his right was braced against one of the ejection straps. It cut his body in two.
